Position Information

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Science or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Five years experience in social science research and statistical analysis, preferably in institutional research. Demonstrated knowledge of current principles and procedures of higher education planning, research design, methodology, analysis, and presentation. Knowledge of current software applications commonly used in higher education, and experience using statistical software ( e.g. SPSS, SAS, R etc.) Demonstrated ability to exercise critical judgment, leadership and initiative, identify priorities, and work collaboratively and effectively with members of a diverse campus community. Understanding of contemporary issues facing academic institutions related to outcome assessment, accountability, and equity. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Desired Qualifications

Doctoral degree in related field. Prior experience in higher education, including teaching experience.

Position Purpose

Responsible for the university’s comprehensive institutional research function to drive institutional decision making in the support of strategic planning, policy formation, and evaluation of progress relative to strategic goals across the campus. Conduct research in areas related to the institution’s strategic objectives such as student success and progress, assessment of student learning outcomes, and institutional effectiveness. Provide analysis and interpretation of research findings and assessment of trends. Analyze data for both on-campus use and submission to external agencies.
