The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), is Doctoral/Research extensive and a premier public urban university committed to academic excellence, located in the commercial and industrial hub of Wisconsin. UW-Milwaukee is one of the two “doctoral cluster” campuses in the 26 campus University of Wisconsin System with a student enrollment close to 28,000.
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is a Research 1 institution located on the north side of Milwaukee. The department of Geosciences offers B.S./B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degree programs and is staffed by 10 full-time faculty.
The Department of Geosciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in physical hydrogeology at the rank of Assistant Professor with a start date of August 19, 2019. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in hydrogeology or related field at the time of appointment, and have demonstrated research experience in physical hydrogeology. Post-doctoral experience is desirable. The successful candidate is expected to conduct an active, internationally recognized, externally funded research program that will attract and support graduate students. The successful candidate will teach an undergraduate/graduate course in physical hydrogeology, an introductory course, upper level undergraduate and graduate level courses in their field of expertise, and advise graduate student thesis projects. A normal teaching load is 3 courses per academic year.
