Position Summary:Assists the directors, research department staff, principle investigators, and study team members in promoting the ethical conduct of human subjects research and ensuring it is conducted in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as institutional and system-wide policies.Supports IRB members in carrying out their oversight responsibilities. Coordinates the review and approval process of all research activities within the institution or otherwise delegated to the institution’s IRB, and ensures the safety, rights, and welfare of human research subjectsStudies may range from large, federally funded, multi-site clinical trials, to small, local, investigator initiated research supported by the institution
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in health care, research, science or other related field2 years of clinical research compliance experienceCertified in Healthcare Research Compliance, or certification within 18 months of employmentExcellent written/interpersonal skillsComputer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and web-based toolsAdvanced understanding of the regulatory frameworks that apply to research – eg, Common Rule, Final Rule, FDA, HIPAAAbility to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Requirements:Master’s or other advanced degree preferred5 or more years clinical research compliance experience preferredOverview Henry Ford Health System, one of the largest and most comprehensive integrated U.S. health care systems, is a national leader in clinical care, research and education.
