The Manager-Multi-Site Research Projects (Manager, for simplicity) is responsible for handling all of the operational details of large, externally-funded research projects for which Henry Ford Health System is the lead site or designated Coordinating Center.
The Manager is the person in overall operational charge of the project, and is responsible for all day-to-day operational issues, not only at HFHS, but at all other participating sites as well.
He/she is in regular contact with staff at participating sites, and is heavily involved in contract negotiation, budget management, and other financial and legal aspects of multi-site projects.
He/she works under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or Program Director, but generally has considerable autonomy in decision-making and problem-solving.
Master's Degree in a field closely related to the conduct of multi-site clinical research, including Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Operations Research, OR a social science discipline like Psychology or Sociology; OR a Ph.D. (or similar degree like Sc.D. or Ed.D.) in one of these fields is acceptable and may be preferred for some specific projects, but is not required; OR a Bachelor's Degree in a related field (including Nursing) and three or more years of directly relevant experience in the conduct of multi-site research projects.
In lieu of years of experience, a Bachelor's Degree and a formal certificate in Clinical Research, Epidemiology, Data Base Management, or a similar field related to the conduct of multi-site research is particularly valuable and acceptable.Overview Henry Ford Health System, one of the largest and most comprehensive integrated U.S. health care systems, is a national leader in clinical care, research and education.
